The original coal-burning furnace may be long gone from your old home's basement, but you can preserve a bit of its Victorian charm with this vintage vent cover.

This rib cage vent has an ornate cover, which provides some heat regulation. According to the company selling this piece, the register is nickel-plated cast iron.
