Hvac: UV lights

Making your old house energy-efficient and well-insulated can lead to new problems, such as trapping indoor air pollutants inside. Traditional HVAC filtration systems can capture and remove dirt and mold, but this ultraviolet germicidal light (mounted inside your air conditional coil) actually destroys these airborne particles.
Ideally, the light should be used in conjunction with a high efficiency air cleaner. One downside: These UV lights must be replaced annually.
Using UV light for sterilization has been a principle in use for many years by food processing manufacturers.
