Lighting: Stickley desk lamp

Even ardent history buffs might have trouble identifying this Gustav Stickley desk lamp as a reproduction. The handcrafted #501 desk lamp is built with quarter-sawn white oak and solid brass parts, chemically aged to achieve an antique patina. The cord is brown cloth (rayon), in keeping with the era. It's 8" wide and 16" tall and takes a 40-watt bulb. Price is $450 (October 2004).
