Lightning Rods: Attracting lightning

There's something slightly mystical about a fanciful, colorful lightning rod sitting atop the highest point of a charming Victorian manse. Weathervanes.com sells decorative and functional lightning rods, complete with colored ceramic or glass balls and tail arrows in blue, red or green. A constellation ornament is sold separately.

If your lightning rod will be functional, you'll need to buy some other accessories such as clamps and conducting cable and connectors. Weathervanes.com stocks those parts as well.

Their traditional (high profile) lightning rods come in three sizes (small, medium and large) and they also offer simpler lightning rods for a wide variety of needs and roof styles. Prices start at $135 (June 2004).
