Tile murals by this Jerusalem family of artisans have been displayed at the Smithsonian Museum. Now you can have the same vibrant tile art on your walls at home. This colorful mural is comprised of 6" square, handpainted tiles.The Olive Tree of Jerusalem measures 30" x 54" (each tile is 15 cm square or about 6"). The price is $20 per tile (or about $$640 as shown, not including cost of border) (November 2006).
The Olive Tree of Jerusalem depicts a lush Middle Eastern garden vibrant and alive with plants, animals and botanicals. This mural is the work of the Balian family, artists whose roots in ceramics and pottery date back to 13th century Turkey.
The tiled murals are intended to be affixed to a wall and can be framed, creating the look of a window.
