Few people can live in an old house very long before the urge (or need) to strip woodwork sets in. The Speedheater 1100 Silent Paint Remover uses infrared heat to soften paint and varnish.

Why infrared as opposed to a heat gun's stream of hot air? According to the manufacturer, infrared heat is quicker and less costly to operate, while causing less damage to wood and creating less of a fire danger.
