According to the folks at Rejuvenation, Mission was less a philosphy than a look -- which can be summed up as square and rustic. Particularly in lighting and furniture, Mission meant clean lines, simple construction, and natural finishes.

This brushed brass chandelier is a faithful replica of the dual gas and electric lights that were common in the early 20th Century in Mission-style homes.

While the original would have had gas lights on the top, and electric bulbs on the bottom, this replica accepts up to eight incadescent bulbs of up to 100 watts each. It retails for $807 (May 2004) as shown. The company's web site offers many other Mission style lighting choices as well.
