Roofing: Shake 'n shingle

Pressure treated southern yellow pine shakes offer the beauty of real wood shakes with the durability of pressure treated lumber. These shakes are water repellant, resistant to curling, splinters, mold, mildew and fungus, and insects.

The same treatment used for decades to protect telephone poles and other ground contact lumber is used to protect LifePine shakes and shingles from rot and decay. This 30-year-old company backs its durability claims by a 50-year transferable warranty.

Natural aging will turn the shakes a driftwood gray. The shakes can be installed on plywood as replacement or new roofs. Installation with air nailers is recommended.
