Metal roof doesn't have to be synonymous with boring, flat panels. Take a look at this flashy, diamond-shaped shingle, reminiscent of the old style asphalt or asbestos shingles. This roofing is offered in aluminum, copper or zinc. The aluminum shingle comes in 29 colors; copper and zinc have a natural finish. These shingles can be used for re-roofing or new construction and have a 50-year warranty. Price is $311 per square (aluminum), exclusive of trim pieces (September 2004).
