Screen Doors: Prairie screens

Reviewed by:
The Old House Web
These Prairie screen doors are part of Old Goats Craftsman collection. The full-view door pictured on the bottom is historically accurate, while the quarter-and half-doors offer the Prairie look to homeowners with small children and/or pets. All doors are built with 4-1/2" top, center and bottom rails and are 1-1/4" thick with 2" mortise and tenon joinery. The higher center rail in the half- and quarter-door styles prevent small fingers or paws from poking through the screening. The doors are made from oak, poplar, or mahogany. Prices range from $349 to $474 (January 2005).
