Stained Glass: Glass quilt

Reviewed by:
Rosemary Thornton
The Color Quilt door is a ten-lite door made from bits and pieces of glass in a variety of textures. The rays of light moving through the textures and bevels create an ever-changing look.

The leaded and stained-glass panels are not tempered and because of that, they are more fragile than traditional doors. The Color Quilt is a little more durable than other designs, says the manufacturer.

Door Decors designs and builds other leaded and stained glass doors with traditional, contemporary and modern details and patterns. Designs are available with clear, textured and iridescent glass panels.

These doors are not recommended for households with kids who delight in door-slamming. Most doors are available in three stock sizes (30 x 80, 36 x 80 and 36 x 96), as well as custom sizes. All products are made to order. Prices range from $995 to $4795 (2004). Standard-grade doors are made from solid fir.
