Ideal for the smallest of spaces, the Karina Modular Staircase provides a stylish and compact way to get from one level of your home to the next.

The do-it-youself kit comes with railings, balulsters and treads, as well as thorough instructions, in written and video form.

The manufacturer promises that only simple household tools are needed to build the staircase. The staircase height ranges from 6'10" to 9'3". With (optional) additional risers, it can go up to 10'9".

Karina Modular Staircase is priced under $1,000 (April 2006).
