Carlisle Restoration Lumber, a leading manufacturer of wide plank flooring, now has stair parts in the same newly sawn woods. At any given time, Carlisle has 500,000 board feet in inventory. Newly sawn woods available for stair treads, risers and nosinginclude include old growth Eastern Pine, old growth Southern longleaf heartpine, and hardwoods of red oak, maple, hickory, white oak, cherry, birch, walnut, ash and butternut. Price varies depending on wood; in February 2005, wood prices ranged from $5.35 per square foot for pines to $18 per square foot for antique woods.
