Tin Ceilings: Tin ceilings in a snap

Tin ceilings can be a beautiful addition to any room -- and here's a system designed to make installation less daunting for the neophyte do-it-yourselfer.

These 24" by 24" interlocking panels do not require a plywood substrate, but can be installed directly over sheetrock with six drywall screws per panel. A 3/4" recessed flange on the panel's edges then snaps into the next panel, overlapping and hiding the screw heads.

The manufacturer estimates that the total installed cost will be about $435 for 100 square feet (Oct. 2004).
