Have you abandoned all hope of opening those stubborn old windows in your house? Replace the moving parts rather than the entire window.

This cast bronze pulley is designed to be a smidge larger than pulleys found in older homes, for a snug fit. Inside, it has a sealed ball-bearing and can support up to 1,300 pounds.

The pulley can be used with ropes or chains.

A brass pulley costs $26.40, bronze is $28 (January 2006).
