Fretwork

Fretwork is the name given to intricate design patterns cut into a panel and used for decoration. The designs were often cut with a fretsaw, hence the name fretwork. Perhaps the most well-known applications of fretwork are the Victorian, gingerbread decorative accents. Today most fretwork is produced in wood, metal, or composite materials using CNC machining.
