Re: Light Green Rooms

Congrats, Joe!

And "Sage Green" seems right. A quick Google search turns up several rooms that have the same shade of green.

Re: Light Green Rooms

Is there any particular reason why practically EVERYONE had Benjamin Moore colours? Is this one of the only paint stores in the US? Seems to be there are tons of them, but everyone seems to use BM. Just curious.

Thanks for all the replies so far. Keep 'em coming. I might actually be ready to paint much sooner than I had thought!

Re: Uncovering wood floors...nail holes everywhere

For fun, here are a few shots of the birch floors on the main floor of the house. These had been covered with carpet at some point, possibly linoleum (traces of glue everywhere), then 1/4" plywood and probably another carpet, and eventually floating laminate was added in the past 10 years. The lamin...

Light Green Rooms

I'm currently trying to pick a shade of green for one of the rooms in my house, and I thought I would ask the forum members for photos of their green rooms. It doesn't matter if your trim is white or natural/stained wood, I'm just looking for ideas. Bonus points if you know the name and company of t...

Re: Five-panel door I have never seen before.

If you can, try to find a local cabinetmaker. Interior doors, especially if it's paint grade, are very easy for a cabinetmaker to build. The price would not be in the "insane" region either. I was told by a few people selling doors that if I wanted a custom solid wood door, it would cost over 800$ p...

Re: 2012 Accomplishments

This post, as well as having gone through some old photos got me in the mood to make a list of what I got done on my house this year. I've posted this list along with more info and details on my blog (link in signature). 2012 Recap Note: the items in the list are not necessarily in order, but close ...

Re: Uncovering wood floors...nail holes everywhere

My opinion is that even if the original pine floors have 60,000 nail holes in them, they will still look better than any new floor. I have the same problem in my house, which has had everything from carpet, to linoleum, to floating laminate over the original floors (with nails, tacks, screws and oth...

No, I didn't think so when I first saw it, and looking again, it looks fine.
