mortar?

So we have a small "cement pond" in our yard that has probably been there forever. It was (I think) surrounded by old stones and over time they have come loose. I want to put them back but not sure what i need to make mortar. Any help out there?

Any of the bag stuff from the box stores will be fine. Rocks are not fussy about mortar.
