Hanging & storing screens and storms

Postby mamaartemis » Wed Sep 26, 2007 10:55 am

If I become a productive member of the make-your-own storm window society (which I very much aspire to!) how do I hang them? I grew up in a house that had the aluminum screen/storm windows, so I've never actually seen how these work. Any pictures?

Thanks in advance--I've already learned so much from everyone on this forum and I really appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge.

Thank you, thank you! For creating this topic and taking the time to add all the photos.

I learned so much and am ready to start a project that will help me sleep a little better this winter. Truly we need them for the noise reduction as much as to keep the heat in. :)

Ok everybody, are we done with this thread?
I'd like to move it over to the reference section.
Thanks,

Well, i never quite finished it. Maybe change the title to DIY Storm windows - Part one. Then when I get around to it, we can call the next thread part two.

I have one in progress, too. It'll be a web site/blog kind of thing. Hopefully a link to the external site would suffice.

I'm doing work for a couple of private clients right now. Once I have them under control, I'm going to get back on task.

The link below shows an example of the hardware you'd use for hanging. Hope this helps!
