Balanced Plant Growth

Proper plant growth depends on all plant parts functioning in balance with each other. Injury to the roots will lead to a corresponding amount of injury to the leaves. Repeated injury to the leaves can lead to reduction in root growth. The plant structure is divided into approximately the following proportions: 5 percent, fine feeder roots; 15 percent, larger or transport roots; 60 percent, trunk or main stem; 15 percent, branches and twigs; 5 percent, leaves.
