Lamiums are vine like plants with green foliage spotted with silver. Some of them are suited for use as ground covers.

Lamium maculatum--Spotted Dead Nettle Spotted dead nettle is a spreading, sprawling plant which grows in most types of soils. The plant can be used in the shade and grows 8 to 12 inches tall. The center of the leaves has a white or cream colored blotch. The purplish flowers are borne from May through summer. Propagation is by division in autumn or cuttings taken in summer.

Lamium galeobdolon - Archangel Vine, Dead Nettle Dead nettle is often used as an outdoor ground cover. In a hanging pot it can make a beautiful house plant. Grow the plant in bright light and water when the soil feels dry. Fertilize actively growing plants according to label directions. The center of the leaves are silver. Propagation is by division in autumn or by cuttings taken in summer.
