The polygonums are easily grown and some can be serious weed problems. They grow in sunny areas in ordinary soil. Planting may be done in fall or spring. Flowers are usually pink, red or white.
Propagation is by seed planted in the spring, or by division done in spring or autumn.
The plant is not subject to serious pests.
